At the beginning of January 2026, airBaltic, the leading airline in the Baltics marks the 30th anniversary of its route between Copenhagen and Riga, Latvia. This was the airline’s third-ever direct service, and today airBaltic operates up to three daily flights between the two cities, providing passengers with flexible travel options and seamless connections through the Latvian capital – the leading airport in the Baltics – to over 80 destinations across its network.
Mantas Vrubliauskas, VP Network Management at airBaltic says:
Over the past three decades, our flights between both capitals have provided customers with convenient and reliable travel options for both business and leisure. Service between Copenhagen and Riga consistently ranks among our top routes, and this summer season we will further expand our presence in the Danish capital by increasing frequencies to better meet our customers’ needs. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our long-term partner, Copenhagen Airport, for their continued cooperation and support of airBaltic’s growth.
Peter Krogsgaard, Chief Commercial Officer of Copenhagen Airport comments:
We at CPH wish airBaltic many congratulations on achieving this milestone. We are delighted with the excellent cooperation we have had over these 30 years, and hope to see continued and expanded airBaltic links from CPH to the Baltic region long into the future.
